Jordan is in constant pain from a congenital hip problem. His
mom tells his story in her own words:
After almost a year of seeing doctors and having his information
passed between doctors and teaching hospitals, he was finally
diagnosed with Multiplt Epiphyseal Dysplasia (painful growth or
malformation of all long bones in his skeleton) witch is centering
in his growth plates in his pelvis.
This bone disease has caused some stunting of his growth leaving
him only 4'3 at 12 1/2(6-10 inch deficit of normal boy) and causing
him intractable pain on a daily basis. He has had 4 bilateral hip
surgeries either to do some correction or rotation, the last being
when he was 9.
He is not done by a long shot as the bone disease progressively
gets worse as he gets older. He is looking at bilateral hip
replacement surgery in the future but we are prolonging the
inevitable. He cannot walk for very long distances, cannot play ANY
contact sports or even skateboard (which he is a HUGE fan of!).
