Pictured above is Connor (on the
right) with his brother Darien (on the left).
When he was only a year old, Connor was diagnosed with a rare
form of brain cancer. He had brain surgery and two rounds of chemo,
and he spent several weeks in the hospital; but the cancer continues
to grow and has spread to his spine also. He's into his third
round of chemo. The next step in his
battle will most likely be radiation. His parents hope to be
able to take him to St. Jude's Hospital.
Connor has several limitations. He has trouble walking
sometimes and falls a lot. He cannot run or climb like other
little boys.
Connor functions as a three year old, but without the
typical mobility and speech of a child that age. His
vocabulary is limited, due to oral function difficulties. He cannot
dress himself, though he tries.
Connor is learning to count to three and knows some colors. He
collects anything Mickey Mouse, likes playing with balloons and
play-doh and loves music and singing. His favorite show is
America's Funniest Videos, and Connor loves to laugh. He is
fascinated with motorcycles.
Connor's dad served in Iraq, but he's home with his family now!
Below is a photo of Connor while he was undergoing chemo. (click
