Braedon was born healthy and reached all
milestones on target. But by age four, his speech started to
slur and his balance and coordination were impaired. After
almost two years of testing and doctor visits, a diagnosis was
finally confirmed of Ataxia Telangiectasia (a nervous system and
immune disorder).
In 2008, Braedon's parents noticed a swollen gland in Braedon's
neck. A biopsy showed B-cell Lymphoma. After several
rounds of chemotherapy, he is now in remission from the cancer; but
he is deteriorating neurologically. Walking is very difficult.
he is not able to write like he used to, and he tires easily. (Click

But Braedon IS a typical eight year old! He enjoys playing
the things most boys his age do, like Gameboy DS and Wii. He
also likes Superman and Astro Boy. He has difficulty reading,
due to oculomotor apraxia; but he enjoys listening to
age-appropriate books on tape or on CD.
